We went up to Boston to see my family this weekend. One of the many fun things about this is that it is really the only time we realize that Abigail has any sort of NY accent and I recover my Boston accent pretty quickly (my family is deeply into “r” dropping)…
Katherine and I dropped Abigail off in Belmont so she could spend the afternoon with her cousin Elizabeth. Lizzy is one month older and 7″ shorter than Abigail but they get along anyway…
Then we headed off to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (this is the museum that is the site of the largest unsolved art theft in history. It took place in 1990 – approximately $500 million). They have constructed a new gallery and we wanted to see it. The building is lovely but frankly we were disappointed with the gallery space.
After the museum we went off to the North End. This used to be the Italian section of Boston and still is but it is gentrifying rapidly. However, there are still a lot of great food shops and restaurants of the old school.
A little walk around the North End.
