“One swallow does not make a summer,
neither does one fine day;
similarly one day or brief time of happiness does not make a person entirely happy.”
It was a beautiful summer day. True it is only April but I don’t know what else you could call a sunny day with temps in the mid/high 80′s. So as the day’s work ended I headed down to South Ferry and Battery Park.
Walk with me. I started at South Ferry (the transit station where you pick up the Staten Island Ferry) and walked Northwest up to the World Financial Center and back.

Nice walk; have not taken the Ferry. My nephew lived on Staten Island when he finished up at at NYU. On 9/11 he was about to board the Ferry when the first plane hit .

That must have been frightening.

Enjoyable walk. Thanks. The first time I saw/entered NYC was from the Staten Island Ferry. I was lost and my ride dropped me off there. He said take the ferry. It will drop you off in the city, you can’t miss it. It was well after dark, the trip was magical–lady liberty, the bridge, and then the subway. It took a while, but I found my way.

The Ferry is one of my favorite transit experiences in the city and it is a great way to land on Manhattan.

How nice it must have been …all the people out in the warm weather … cormorants in the water — they’re everywhere!
Apparently it’s been some day here in this province too, according to the weather report, but we had a fog day in Saint John. That was nice too

It was nice. Lots of people, lots of birds. It was hazy of course and the river and harbor was rough. I did not see any kayakers or small sailboats out.

I ran through there between 1:45 and 2:00pm on my training run yesterday. There were LOTS of people out, and plenty of vendors selling ice cold water for a buck. What a day it was !

It sure was. Today wasn’t bad either.
