We have joined a new club?, group?, thing? called Theater Mania Gold which allows us to get tickets on short notice to a number of events for the truly low price of $4.50 a ticket. Friday we noticed that the Saturday, 2 PM matinée of Swan Lake by the Australian Ballet was on the site. It was playing at Lincoln Center. I haven’t seen a ballet since high school and Katherine hasn’t seen one for 15 years so we said “what the heck.” We were in the 2nd Ring, 3rd Row, Center. Great seats. I enjoyed myself but still not a ballet fan… Black Swan was more fun…
I really like the Lincoln Center campus so I arrived an hour early to shoot and discovered that the craft festival was in session. Twofer! Fine people watching everywhere I turned.

Oh, I remember that shot from 2011 … it’s still just as beautiful!
I’m not a ballet fan, I went once with my Mum to see Swan Lake with the Russian Bolshoi Ballet, that was touring then. This was long before 1989, it was kind of unusual. Still didn’t change my appreciation of ballet.

Thank you. I do love that one.
I completely respect ballet dancers and the effort it takes to develop the skills they have but the form just leaves me cold.
