To market, to market to buy a fat pig;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog.
To market, to market, to buy a plum cake;
Home again, home again, market is late.
To market, to market, to buy a plum bun;
Home again, home again, market is done.
To market, to market, a gallop a trot,
To buy some meat to put in the pot;
three pence a quarter, a grout a side
If it hadn’t been killed it must have died
Ailsa, Where’s my Backpack?, came up with the theme of food this week.
I present the largest food market I have ever seen, The Jean Talon Market, in Montreal…it is both indoor and outdoor. We visited April 3, 2010.

I’ve never been to Montreal, only their airport [Trudeau], but I jumped when I saw the name Jean Talon … in Quebec, I guess that’s a famous name. There is a big boulevard in QC with that name, and some market too..

Montreal is a great city…I would say the 2nd or 3rd best in North America. You really should visit someday!

That looks like a great place to shop, all under one roof. Brilliant!

Excellent, I will be sure to seek out the Jean Talon Market if I’m in Montreal. And I love that poem, I’ve never heard it before but it makes me giggle

My mom used to chant it to me…
