I once did a study where I interviewed people with severe cases of PTSD. One study participant was a woman who’d been through unspeakable horror. She didn’t take part in the conversation until someone else mentioned a drug treatment that seemed to help. The woman looked up, interrupted the conversation and asked the other women in the group if they’d ever tried another drug. When they shook their heads in the negative, the lady looked around the table and said, “With all respect to the men in the room…ladies, when you use [drug] you don’t even need a man around to be happy!”
