10-9-11 Cold Spring

Took a lovely drive up to Cold Spring, NY today – well lovely except for the hour long backup leading to the rotary before the Bear Mountain Bridge…there was an Oktoberfest Event and  RT 9W southbound was shutdown…very intelligent planning. The village of Cold Spring, NY is a small town with lots of antique and craft shops, lots of bars and lots of motorcycles.  It is across the river from West Point, just north of Boscobel and Manitoga.  At the end of Main Street you walk under the train tracks and come up on the Marina and a nice little riverside park.

For those of you who are foliage people, the leaves have just begun to change here.

5-15-11 Garrison NY, Boscobel, and The Riverkeeper Shad Fest

This will be a short posting. We went to Boscobel for the 21st Annual Riverkeeper Shad Festival yesterday. A beautiful, foggy, Hudson Valley Day. Lots of photos of the festivities and lots of thoughts about the content but no time to write about them this morning. So, that post is TK, I hope by tonight or tomorrow.
