Christopher Street Subway Station
Okaaaay. Today’s question class…South Carolina or New York?
What can you say about a state that wants to uphold traditional marriage (2006 amended the State Constitution to prohibit gay marriage and civil unions) and stop politicians from wasting the taxpayers $ and then turns around and nominates Mark Sanford for Congress? A man who wasted how much taxpayer money? To make it even better, as he accepted the nomination he spoke movingly about his god and his fiancée (formerly mistress) both being proudly behind him – it is true that we could see her. Mr Sanford still holds the record for largest ethics fine in SC history.
On the other hand what can you say about a collection of goofballs who make The Gang that Couldn’t Shoot Straight look like brainiacs, who get caught giving and taking bribes for the purpose of making the impossible happen? There is no way that Senator Smith was getting the Republican nomination for Mayor unless he bribed the entire voting population. Of course, if we behaved the way the dopes who took the bribes did (endorsing other people), we could take the money and not do what we were bought for.
I’m afraid I have to give the edge to SC. Before you start yelling biased northern judge let me point out the only truly salient fact. SC voted against its own proudly stated religious, moral, and monetary beliefs. NY just elects crooked dunderheads.
