7-7-13 Travel Theme: Motion (Clinton Corners Edition)

“So in America when the sun goes down and I sit on the old broken-down river pier watching the long, long skies over New Jersey and sense all that raw land that rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over to the West Coast, and all that road going, and all the people dreaming in the immensity of it… and tonight the stars’ll be out, and don’t you know that God is Pooh Bear?”
Jack Kerouac, On the Road, Part 5

Ailsa’s theme this week is Motion.

We celebrated the 4th in the most traditionally US way possible. We hit the road to visit friends in Clinton Corners, NY and Northampton, MA. Northampton starred in yesterday’s post so it is only fair that Clinton Corners carries the honors today. Here are two views from our friend’s back lawn of my idea motion. The first is from the 4th and carries echoes of the old days (perhaps could have used it for my Nostalgic post in response to the Weekly Photo Challenge yesterday.) The second is from early morning on the 5th.
