12-6-13 Travel Theme – Symbol

In honor of one of the truly great people of our lifetime, Nelson Mandela, Ailsa has picked Symbol as the Travel Theme of the week.  Fortuitously, I spent some time yesterday shooting an act that I regard as symbolic of the end of summer.

If you read yesterday’s post (here), you know about the boats that fill the Hudson with water. That, however, is not the only thing they do. They also symbolically show the begin of summer and winter when they visit the 79th Street Boatyard.  When you see the Miller family of tugboats on the water with a crane you know that the season is definitely here.
