15-09-24 The “Real” New York City – A Lazy Late Afternoon On The Hudson

Continuing with my “real New York” idea, I will be giving you a bit of today’s life on the greenway in Manhattan that runs along the Hudson.
When I got home from work today, I was cranky and exhausted…too many days in a row getting up at 4/5 AM and driving way too far (not whining – I love the life I have chosen here at the beginning of my last third but tired is as tired is) and needed to get some images to clients. After handling that I sat back and said: “I need the river. I miss the river. I don’t go there as often as I should. Go, you idiot!”
So I headed into Riverside Park and then down to the 79th Street Boat Basin. Got there, turned around walked back up the river to my home, about 4 miles in all. I feel so much better. I know the river is my anti-anxiety place, my mood elevator place, as Castaneda would have said…it is my “power place”, but for some reason I have been neglecting it and thus neglecting myself…

A few images from my walk. I hope you enjoy them.
