16-01-25 Begging Your Indulgence

I spent the last week as TA for a great class taught by the very talented Winona Barton-Ballentine (check her work out!) called In Design For Photographers at ICP. I worked on a little booklet there which I am somewhat pleased with (I have more to do, but it is heading where I want to go.)

I had hoped to put it onto QH so you could see it. In that cause, I have been attempting to figure out how to embed a PDF into a post so you don’t have to click on a link to see it. I have not yet been able to make that work. I know it is possible in WP.org but I am not sure it is possible in WP.com. So, the indulgence I am begging is twofold.

1: If you are a WP maven can you guide me through how to do this?

2: Will you please click on the link and take a look? (FYI: One page may be NSFW depending on your work environment)

8 Pages 1 v4_signed This is the link.

Thank you.

15-12-21 Lens Culture (Almost Winter Solstice Edition)

So the Winter Solstice is at 11:48PM (EST) tonight.

They are predicting temps as high as 63 Tuesday and 73 on Christmas Eve. I guess we don’t have to move back to LA for the weather after all…

I made several entries to the Lens Culture Exposure awards today and thought I would share one of the series with you…

As always feedback is appreciated.

15-08-14 Weekly Photo Challenge: Creeeeeepy

Creepy

I have a number of images I regard as much creepier than today’s image but my challenge was to go back through the past 24 hours and see if I had accidentally taken anything that was or could be made creepy.  This is what I can up with.

You be the judge…

15-02-25 The Oyster House

“Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer”

TOBIAS/BRADTKE/CARSTE

I’m in a summer mood today. This is probably because the temperature skyrocketed to above freezing. I actually found myself taking off my coat and walking in shirt sleeves (long sleeves but still). I also recently did an iPhone dump of photos, many of which were from last summer.

8-15-14 Weekly Travel Photo Challenge Theme: Silhouette On The Horizon

Ailsa’s Theme is: Horizons

The WP Weekly Photo Challenge is: Silhouettes. (WP’s real challenge this week is their unexplainable “fix” to the posting screen but that is another post.)

8-6-14 69th Anniversary

The sheep’s in the meadow
The cow’s in the corn
Now is the time for a child to be born
You’ll laugh at the moon and you’ll cry for the sun
And if it’s a boy he’ll carry a gun
Sang the crow on the cradle

And if it should be that this baby’s a girl
Never you mind if her hair doesn’t curl
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
A shadow above her wherever she goes
Sang the crow on the cradle

The crow on the cradle
The black on the white
Somebody’s baby is born for a fight
The crow on the cradle
The white on the black
Somebody’s baby is not coming back
Sang the crow on the cradle

Bring me my gun and I’ll shoot
That bird dead
That’s what your mother and
Father once said
A crow on the cradle what can we do
This is the thing I must leave up to you
Sang the crow on the cradle
