16-07-03 The Things I Wonder About

Is this how the world would look if I took off my glasses AND was color blind?

16-05-05 Going Up The Country

I bring the youth of America home from sophomore year of college tomorrow.

They get to choose the ride home list.

These particular versions (many live) actually give me 30 minutes extra in case of traffic jams.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Time

“…takes a cigarette/puts it in your mouth” – Bowie

nope wrong song…

So you live day to day,
And you dream about tomorrow, oh
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something
To make them go away
I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind
From wonderin’ what I left behind
And from worrying ’bout this wasted time

The challenge is time

My answer?

Well, an answer, I believe, is found in this snowy portrait…

16-01-25 Begging Your Indulgence

I spent the last week as TA for a great class taught by the very talented Winona Barton-Ballentine (check her work out!) called In Design For Photographers at ICP. I worked on a little booklet there which I am somewhat pleased with (I have more to do, but it is heading where I want to go.)

I had hoped to put it onto QH so you could see it. In that cause, I have been attempting to figure out how to embed a PDF into a post so you don’t have to click on a link to see it. I have not yet been able to make that work. I know it is possible in WP.org but I am not sure it is possible in WP.com. So, the indulgence I am begging is twofold.

1: If you are a WP maven can you guide me through how to do this?

2: Will you please click on the link and take a look? (FYI: One page may be NSFW depending on your work environment)

8 Pages 1 v4_signed This is the link.

Thank you.

9-21-14 Weekly Photo Challenge: Endurance – It Looks To Have Been A Great March. BUT Are You Going To VOTE!

As I feared I missed today’s Climate March but from friend’s reports it was a great success and a good coming together. BUT, if the people who marched do not vote and do not get their friends to vote, at least in the USA it will all be for nought. Our fellow citizens, the corporate ones, have bought Congress, especially the Republican side of the aisle (sorry but it is true), lock, stock and barrel. If they take the Senate, the little that has been done disappears. Period, end of sentence.

Do we have the endurance to get out there and rouse the vote, to pull, push, whine, nag, needle, show the difference, and push and push and push to get our apathetic friends, relatives and colleagues to VOTE?

Do we have the endurance to keep it looking like this…

or will we let it end up like this…

8-30-14 Weekly Photo Challenge: Dialogue

Dialogue is an engaging conversational exchange.

When it comes to photography, dialogue can be perceived as a consensual interaction between two images.

Placed next to each other, each photograph opens up to meanings that weren’t there when viewed alone.

Each composition reveals the photographer’s specific sensitivity to certain content or visual elements.”

7-17-14 Throwback Thursday

I don’t do throwback Thursday. Never have. But recently my mother dug an old piece of my history up and I shared it on several forms of social media. So I figured, let’s go back half a decade to Cape Cod in July 2009 and watch the oyster farmers at work.

What did my mother dig up? I am sure this will be familiar to some of you…(personal information is blacked out). Without looking! Who knows what 1-H means?
