16-05-05 Going Up The Country

I bring the youth of America home from sophomore year of college tomorrow.

I put this playlist together to cover the three hour drive to the school…
They get to choose the ride home list.

Whipping Post (Live) The Allman Brothers Band
Cowgirl In the Sand (Live)Neil Young
Desolation Row Bob Dylan
Sultans of Swing (Live) Dire Straits
Matty Groves Fairport Convention
Madame George Van Morrison
Ball and Chain (Live) Big Brother & The Holding Company

Amen Leonard Cohen
Sugaree (Live) Grateful Dead
Layla Derek & The Dominos
When the Music’s Over The Doors
Blackstar David Bowie
Purple Rain Prince & The Revolution

These particular versions (many live) actually give me 30 minutes extra in case of traffic jams.

9-30-11 Thus Endeth Q3 (Brown)

Every once in a while I gave myself a little challenge, both to keep things interesting and to push myself. Today I choose to lay out one ground rule – shoot brown.  Get as many shades of brown as possible into the frame and try my best to avoid other colors. Easier said then done but here is the result.

On a different part of the color palate, I have not been able to get the song Purple Rain out of my head for the last three days.  Clearly I need to share.

6-21-11 Summer Solstice 1:16 PM EDT

Nope this picture was not taken at 1:16. It was more like 7:46pm but summer time it is.  So what will be the inescapable summer song of 2011? Last year was Katy Perry‘s California Gurls and Eminem‘s Love The Way You Lie

Lots of songs bring me summertime memories but my all time summer songs (Not favorite summer songs but the ones that really bring back the summer they held the air) would have to be…

Miss You

When Doves Cry

I Kissed A Girl

What songs bring back your summer memories?

Thanks to everyone who voted on yesterday’s photos whether via blog, Facebook or email.  It still isn’t too late to express your opinion…I don’t print until tonight.
