17-02-27 Computer Simulation (Are We One?)

I have been reading a lot about this concept over the past six months. The most recent was just today in the New Yorker. Don’t worry, I am not going to write a 10 page essay explaining the theory. Here is the link to the New Yorker article speaking about it.

I have been walking around NYC a lot and came across an art work that brought the concept to mind. It certainly looks like a classic sci-fi image of our programmers…

12-7-12 – Travel Theme: Circles (2)

This is my second pass at Ailsa’s Travel Theme of the week which is circles.

100 yards or so from the pedicab convention I showed yesterday is The Trump International Hotel with its steel globe.

Christmas_Central Park_Pop-UP-14Many people are unaware that the globe was placed there at the recommendation of a Feng Shui expert. Their idea was that traffic coming around the circle heads straight at the hotel until it turns up Broadway or Central Park West. The bad traffic energy now hits the globe and so flows around the hotel. Feng Shui was also the reason to move the entrance off of Broadway to the quieter Central Park West side where it faces Central Park. This allows it to draw in the beneficial energy of the park.

10-1-12 Who Knows Where The Time Goes

“October is nature’s funeral month.  Nature glories in death more than in life.  The month of departure is more beautiful than the month of coming – October than May.  Every green thing loves to die in bright colors.”
–   Henry Ward Beecher

In keeping with the above it seems that after 122,757 miles the Graciemobile is set to retire.  Just like an old man, its veins are leaking, its bones are frail, its kidneys need replacing and its plugs are having trouble sparking.  After I dropped it off at the shop and before I got the diagnosis, I walked down to the river and up to 72nd Street. It was definitely an October day. Bright sunshine, cool temperatures and a brisk wind.

I took a shot from the front but decided it was a bit risqué for this PG-13 rated blog. All I will say is she likes to share…

A last burst of life…

The portal between two beings…

Missing you….
