16-01-02 When The Music’s Over…

“Donald E. Carr points out that the sense impressions of one-celled animals are not edited for the brain” “This is philosophically interesting in a rather mournful way, since it means that only the simplest animals perceive the universe as it is.”

8-23-12 Down

Morning found us calmly unaware
Noon burned gold into our hair
At night, we swam the Laughing sea
When summer’s gone
Where will we be

Summer’s almost gone
Summer’s almost gone
We had some good times
But they’re gone
The winter’s comin’ on
Summer’s almost gone

Since I did “Up” a few days ago I thought I should contemplate the other aspect…

8-12-11 Summer’s Almost Gone

You can feel it in the August air. It is still hot and humid but the wind is changing, the nights are cooling down, the air smells different, the flowers and plants look older and on the downside of their cycle . The city is deserted, 5 dogs at the dog run on a Friday evening at 6pm…parking is a breeze…all the shrinks have left town for their August vacations so all their clients have left too.  How bloody depressing!

Summer\’s Almost Gone
Summer’s almost gone
Almost gone
Yeah, it’s almost gone
Where will we be
When the summer’s gone?
Morning found us calmly unaware
Noon burn gold into our hair
At night, we swim the laughin’ sea
When summer’s gone
Where will we be
Where will we be
Where will we be
Morning found us calmly unaware
Noon burn gold into our hair
At night, we swim the laughin’ sea
When summer’s gone
Where will we be
Summer’s almost gone
Summer’s almost gone
We had some good times
But they’re gone
The winter’s comin’ on
Summer’s almost gone
