10-2-14 Best Laid Plans

Go to hell quickly. I expected to be writing about the ICP Williamsburg walk and showing 15 of so photographs from it but between an internet and router outage and four hours on the phone with various companies getting that fixed and then another family computer problem, here it is 11:30 and I should have been in bed an hour ago…

Here is a picture that made it into the finals but did not make the cut.

3-1-14 A Public Service

It seems like weeks since we have had snow in the northeast.  The weather folks are predicting that somewhere between 1 inch and 12 inches will fall from Sunday into Monday (way to cover yourselves, guys…)

Since you may have forgotten what a snow storm looks like I thought I might remind you.

Public Service-1

Since I know that no one can read everything in a day I thought I would remind you that Andra Watkin’s novel

was released today

You can read more about it at Andra’s place (Andra Watkins)

8-29-12 Street Walking

Perhaps walking is best imagined as an “indicator species” to use an ecologist’s term.  An indicator species signifies the health of an ecosystem and its endangerment or diminishment can be an early warning sign of systemic trouble. Walking is an indicator species for various kinds of freedom and pleasures: free time, free space, and unhindered bodies.

5-18-11 Missing the River

“Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes”

Again today I was unable to shoot the river. I went down by it but I had no time to shoot.

I am missing the walking almost as much as I am missing the river. It is quite a change to go from walking 1-3 hours a day to sitting in a building.  And bikini season is approaching!

I am finding myself drawn to these August sunset pictures. Could it be that I am sick of rain and the not warm weather?

4-25-11 A walk from 110th to 42nd Street

Warmth! While it was not sunny – today was the second warm day in a row! I had an appointment downtown and so decided to walk from home to 42nd Street and then take the x-town bus.  These next thumbnails detail my walk in approximately 10 block increments…Remember that a click on the image will give you the full size shot!
